Kota Tua Jakarta

I've been there twice... an interesting place within this crowded capital city of Indonesia. Here, you can see the trace of this city when it was still a port town named Batavia, colonized by the netherlands.

It's quite refreshing to experience this historical site as exchange while you are in this shopisticated and modern city. Here you can visit several museum, have a meal in Batavia cafe, shopping those cute ethnical merchandises, rent an old style bike and ride it around to experience the moment of old times within the old buildings from hundred years ago.  If you enjoy photography or maybe trying to find a nice place to take your pre-wedding pictures without having to leave the city due to your workload... this is a perfect place to go.

This site is really easy to reach... there's a big train station Jakarta Kota or widely known as "Stasiun Kota". There are commuter line from all around Jakarta connected to this station and even several train from other cities make their stop on this station. Besides that, you can also reach this place with Transjakarta. It is on the end of the first corridor line of Transjakarta. If you are travelling with cars, just search "kota tua jakarta" on google map and you can find the direction. But don't forget to take the traffic as consideration, especially when you are travelling with tight schedule. Jakarta is known as having the worst traffic in Indonesia.
